A. James Worrell of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2020, at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper. He was 84 years old. Alton James Worrell was born on August 2, 1935, in Monroe, Michigan, to the late Alton Yazel and Dorothy (Pegler) Worrell. He was a 1954 graduate of Monroe High School. James married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Norita Clock on September 8, 1956; she survives him. Following marriage, he proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army. Upon his return, James began working as a patternmaker at Franklin Pattern in Saginaw; eventually becoming a business partner, owner and operator, and dedicated 50 years to the company. James was a faithful member of Community Baptist Church in Shields. He enjoyed woodworking and intricately handcrafted a cement and pickup truck over the years. Above all, James loved spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Norita Worrell of Saginaw; two sons: Matthew (Beth) Worrell of Abilene, TX; Michael Worrell of Oxford, PA; two granddaughters: Sarah Worrell of Sweetwater, TX; Emma Worrell of Abilene, TX; one great-grandson, Kyngstyn Eagle.
Due to the world wide pandemic, a private service has taken place with Pastor Douglas R. Jackson officiating. Burial took place at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
