Agapito “Shorty” Trejo of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved brother, uncle, cousin, and friend passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper. He was 57 years old. Agapito Trejo was born on October 7, 1967, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Agapito Rocha and Adelita Trejo. He was a proud graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Shorty was a hardworking man his entire life. He was employed at Best Western Hotel on Outer Drive for many years, and as a cashier with various party stores through Saginaw. Shorty had a larger-than-life personality, often living like every day was his birthday, especially the entire month of October. He loved joking around, being funny, and putting a smile on everyone’s face. Wherever he was, Shorty always became the life of the party. His light always shined bright, and his spirit was selflessly pure. Shorty was the type of man who’d “give you the shirt off his back”, simply because it was the right thing to do. He will forever be remembered as a loving and caring soul, for his ability to connect with everyone through humor, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories or stories.
Surviving are three children; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Naomi Myles of Saginaw; a brother, Robert Gomez of Saginaw; special nieces, Delores (Marcos) Garcia of Saginaw; Adelita and Jessica Myles of Saginaw. Also surviving are countless other nieces, nephews, extended family, and close friends too numerous to mention, but held closely to his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Agapito Rocha and Adelita Trejo; a sister, Juanita Stevenson.
A funeral service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603. Rev. Sandra Gonzalez will officiate. Honoring Shorty’s wishes, cremation will follow the service. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family c/o Naomi Myles. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the funeral home or through www.casefuneralhome.com.
