Agnes M. Howay Bridgeport, MI Dedicated Wife, Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great-Great-Grandmother, passed peacefully into God's hand from natural causes on December 8, 2016, at the age of 99. Agnes was born November 1, 1917, in Saginaw, Ml to the late Levi and Lillian (Clement) Carlton. She married the late Louis E. Howay in 1946 and enjoyed 52 years of marriage. In addition to her husband, Agnes was predeceased by her 10 siblings. Surviving her is her son Charles and his wife Betty Turner of Birch Run, daughter Roberta (Bobbie) Pollard of Saginaw, daughter Muriel (Midge) and her husband Carl Portner of Saginaw and stepdaughter Andra and her husband Harley Brown of Clio. Agnes also leaves seven grandchildren; Matt (Marilyn) Turner, Shelley (Michael) Thomas, Mark Turner, Ben (Lynn) Pine, Annjannette (Bland) Schafer, Michael Portner and Tracy Portner; eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Senior Living and Compassus Hospice for all the care they provided to Agnes. During WW II, she worked for Eaton Mfg. Agnes was a member of Ames Methodist Church, Story League, Midland Figure Skating Club and the Odd Fellows/Saginaw Rebekah Lodge #253. Agnes was an avid figure skater, softball player, diver and story teller. She loved dancing and attended the Bay City Lincoln Hall Dance weekly. She loved to sew and tell stories to anyone she came into contact with. Agnes enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-greatgrandchildren at the cottage near Tawas. She even rode jet-skis behind her grandchildren at the age of 95. Funeral service will held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 12, 2016, 2016 at W.L. Case & Company 5700 Dixie Hwy, Rev. Doug Mater will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens following the service. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
