Balderstone, Albert D. Saginaw Township Passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016, at St. Francis Home, at the age of 83 years. Albert was born December 25, 1932, in Flint, Michigan, the son of the late Albert E. and Violet (Stone) Balderstone. Al married Dorothy Boughner June 6, 1953; she predeceased him May 30, 2016. Al retired from General Motors and the US Navy as Chief Petty Officer. He also worked as a part time police officer over the years, including Saginaw Township, Carrollton Township, Chesaning and Pinconning. He was a former member of Washington Avenue Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #79, Elf Khurafeh Shrine and American Legion Post #439. Surviving are his children, LeeAnn Balderstone, Beverly and Michael McNally, Becky and Mitchell Demers, Scott and Lisa Balderstone, and Brad and Dixie Balderstone; 13 grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Boughner; two nieces and one nephew. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Linda Balderstone. His family extends thanks to all at St. Francis Home and Heartland Hospice for their kindness and care for both Albert and Dorothy. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2016, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Rob Troutman will officiate with military honors in Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of American Legion Post #1859. Albert's family will receive friends at the funeral chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, on Thursday from 2:00 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 8:00 p.m. and then on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
