Passed away with his loved ones at his side, on Saturday, January 26, 2019. Age 81 years.
He was born on July 31, 1937, son of the late Lydia (Steffenhagen) and Adam Stanley (Slepokura) Stephens, in Detroit. Alfred served in the U. S. Army. He retired from Eaton Corporation as a Welder after 40 years of service. Alfred loved the outdoors, his pond and being in his woods, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed deer processing, making venison sausage and helping out and visiting with his friends at the Sanford Lake Bar and Grill. Al was very gifted with his hands and could design and build most anything. He built the house that he lived in and helped others build theirs.
Alfred will be missed by his children, Alyn Stephens I (Judy), Kathleen Kae (Jaime) and Jennifer (Bill) Johnson; his grandchildren, Alyn II, Joe, Case and Wyatt; great grandchildren, Tyler, Alyn III, Logan, Leigha and Brenna; his sister, Edee Davis; also his very special friends, Rex Allen, Greg and JoAnn Corbat and Dick and Sharlyn Corbat.
Honoring Alfreds wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Wounded Warrior Project.
