Alfred “Al” Francis Parcham of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper. He was 85 years old. Alfred Francis Parcham was born on October 28, 1934, in Bay City, Michigan, to the late Frank and Mary (Delorge) Parcham. He proudly enlisted into the United States Air Force, serving for eight years first as a cook, later in fleet management controlling vehicle motor pools. He met the love of his life, June Anne Archambault, when she was a neighbor to his brother. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on March 20, 1971 in Saginaw; she survives him. Al was employed as an officer with Saginaw County Animal Control, eventually becoming the Assistant Chief before his retirement. He was later employed as a security guard with Teachout Security for over 15 years, serving various locations throughout Saginaw. Al was of the Catholic Faith and a former member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, and watching reruns of old western movies. Al also enjoyed playing Euchre and will fondly be remembered for saying “loaded for bear” while playing with family and friends. He also loved watching sports and cheering for the Detroit Tigers and Lions. Above all, Al and June treasured and cherished traveling, especially to Mackinaw Island. He will forever be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his ability to make others laugh, and his ability to connect with all people because of his passion for communication.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, June Anne Parcham of Saginaw; son, Brian (Angelina) Parcham of Saginaw Township; daughter, Christina (Kiruba) Sam of Saginaw Township; three grandchildren: Madeline Drake of Saginaw Township; Brian Parcham, Jr. of Saginaw Township; Ivanna Villarreal of Saginaw Township; brother, David (Bonnie) Parcham of Saginaw; sister-in-law, Tammie Archambault of Saginaw Township; his cat, Wendy and kitten Flannel “Baby.” Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Robert Parcham.
A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate. Military Honors and Rite of Committal will follow under the auspices of the United States Air Force and American Legion Post #439 at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family c/o June Parcham.
