Alice Mae Andrews

Alice Davy Andrews - Passed with peace and grace this week, while at Healthsource, with family at her side. She was predeceased by her dancing partner and loving husband of 65 years Dale, in 2012. Survived by son Terry (Mary Kathryn), Daughter in law Louise and Daughter Paula all of Saginaw; Grandchildren: Michael, Charles (Janet), Clinton (Elizabeth), Jon, Katie (Nathan) Lawrence, Melissa Andrews-Sullivan and David Gorm; 13 Great grandchildren, one great great-grandson. She is also survived by her sisters; Mabel (Galen) Grandy, Kay Slancik, and brother Jim Davy, along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was also predeceased by her loving son Ron. As a wife and mother, Alice began a cottage industry as a seamstress, designing and creating hundreds of bridal gowns for anyone who asked. Her dining table was always covered with beautiful fabrics and patterns to which she would then transfer to her treadle sewing machine. Later in her seamstress career, she graduated to a Singer machine and things got a whole lot faster and her creativity blossomed. This love of sewing left her family and friends with many handmade memories. When she wasnt busy with sewing or tending to her lovely rose and vegetable garden, she and Dale enjoyed traveling. During most Novembers in Michigan, you would find them, cuddled up together, under a tree waiting for that trophy whitetail to just happen by. Listening and dancing to country music was another love for Alice. When the opportunity arose, she would be the first and last gal on the dance floor. Even in her final days her toes would tap when she heard a favorite song. Alices home was always abuzz with family and friends, as she welcomed all to join in a meal or to just visit and share a coffee. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, whose welcoming and loving spirit made you feel at home. Even now, she is doing a two-step across Heavens floor and helping create beautiful flowing cloud patterns for all of us to admire. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Healthsource of Saginaw and the special hospice caregivers of Wellspring Lutheran Services. If you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saginaw County Animal Control, as Alice loved animals and always took care of those who were homeless. With her passing she leaves our glasses empty, but the wonderful memories fill them full. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at Case Funeral Home, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw 48603 on Monday June 4, from 4-7 PM. Private burial service will take place at Roselawn Cemetery. www.casefuneralhome.com
