Allegra Smith "Jake"

Our loving wife, mother and grandmother went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, February 11, 2024. Age 93 years. 

“Jake” as affectionately referred to by her family, was born on December 18, 1930, daughter of the late George and Bertha (Long) Wylie, in Saginaw. She married the love of her life, Robert Smith on September 27, 1952. He survives her. Together they lovingly nurtured their children while farming. She enjoyed baking birthday cakes for her grandchildren, trying new recipes from magazines, knitting, sewing and canning. Jake had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. Family was very important to Jake, whether she was decorating for holiday gatherings or spending time at their place in Houghton Lake, the time was precious to her. 

Jake will be missed by her husband of 71 years, Robert Smith; children, Kevin Smith, Michelle (Gary) Ratti and Julie (Mark) Rohde; daughter-in-law, Linda Smith; grandchildren, Melony (Jacob) Jeske, Jacob (Megan) Rohde, Jordan (Beth) Rohde, Josh (Tessa) Rohde and Josh (Bridget) Smith; five great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. She was predeceased by her son Craig Smith. 

A Memorial Service will take place at 12:00 p.m., on Friday, February 16, 2024, at W. L. Case and Company, 201 N. Miller Road. Scott Wylie will officiate. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
