On the first day of fall, Saturday, September 23, 2023, at 13:13 (1:13 p.m.) Allen Dale Miller left this earthly plane to join his father Victor Miller, father-in-law Paul Reed, and brothers Steve Miller and Les Miller. Allen was born on August 4, 1964 in Burt, Michigan. A man of all trades, Allen particularly loved roofing and farming, especially as both careers made it easier for him to be able to indulge his love of plants, animals, and helping any soul in need. Allen loved strays of all sorts – human, animal, plant, or machinery. He gathered his tools and vehicles, especially his beloved Dodge Rams, around him just as avidly as he drew in folks in need of love, support, and acceptance. His stubbornness, pride, and determination to love those around him defined him. Allen left his greatest pride and joy behind him. He left his family.

Allen left behind: his mother Myrtlejean Miller; mother-in-law Ruth Reed; wife Celia Miller; his children and grandchildren Alicia (Alley) Ryan, Eric Matthews, Kaitlyn Ryan, Angela Turner, Jerad Turner, Mabel Miller, Neveaha Turner, Preston Turner, Tiffany Miller, Anthony Searles, Sophia Miller, Maggie Miller, Willie Lacker III, Annabelle Miller, Willie Lacker IV, Allen Miller II, Kaydence Garcia, and Allen Miller III; his siblings Julie Snyder, Rudy Snyder, Terry Miller, Jo-Ana Lester, and Rich Lester; and many, many others including deeply beloved nieces and nephews and other well-loved family and friends who he looks forward to laughing with again someday when they’re ready to meet him.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 29, 2023 at W.L. Case and Company, 125 E. Saginaw Street, Merrill. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Brant Township Cemetery.
