Bos, Alvin Jay Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at Luther Manor, age 78 years. Jay was born in Holland, Michigan March 11, 1934 the son of the late Henry and Ruth (DeRidder) Bos. He married Mary Elizabeth Hutfilz in January, 1984 and she survives him. Jay spent his entire career working for General Motors, serving as a test driver of prototype vehicles for the Pontiac Motor Division for several years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He and Mary enjoyed reading and traveling. In addition to his wife, Mary, Jay is survived by four children, Kari (Allen Fish) Armstrong-Fish, Kathy (Dale) Livingston, Tom Bos and Tim Bos; five grandchildren, Jamie (Tom Dittrich) Armstrong-Dittrich, Alex Armstrong, Andrew Armstrong, Sophie Fish and Dylan Bos; a great granddaughter, Sienna Dittrich. When Jay married Mary, he gained a daughter, Lori House; four grandchildren, Courtney (Joe), Brandon, Morgan and Eric and a great-grandson, Logan. Jay also leaves two sisters, Betty Diehm, Lois (Doug) Anderson and a brother, Jim (Donna) Bos. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Glenn Diehm. The funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 5335 Brockway. Rev. Mark P. Buckert will officiate. Military burial will take place 11:30 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2013 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Wednesday from 6:00 8:00 p.m. and at church Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
