Alvin Sheldon Adams

Alvin Sheldon Adams Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Friday, July 4, 2014, surrounded by his family. Age 85 years. The son of the late Marie (Kegley) and Samuel Leeland Adams was born March 28, 1929 in Saginaw. He married Lois Reese, September 17, 1949. She passed away April 9, 2009. Alvin served with the U.S. Army from 1947-1952. He attended the Federal Bureau of Investigation Academy and was a Police Office with the City of Saginaw, retiring as Sargent in 1988 with 35 years of service. After retiring from the City of Saginaw, he was employed in Code Enforcement with Thomas Township. He enjoyed working in his yard and gardening, but most of all, his family, particularly his grandchildren. Surviving are four children and their spouses, Nancy Rittenberry; Susan and Alan Baxter; David and Eva Adams; Amy and Michael Coosard; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Finazzi and her husband, Joseph; Kathryn Rittenberry; Megan and Kayla Baxter; Brittney and James Adams; Melissa and Andrea Coosard; four great grandchildren, Sophia, Ethan, Giovanni, and Rockland; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, his identical twin, Alden James Adams; Elizabeth Gaither and William Adams. In accordance with Alvin's wishes, cremation has taken place.
