Alvin Van Bocxlaer

Passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Covenant Harrison. Age 90 years.
The son of the late Leonard and Ruth (Haffner) Van Bocxlaer was born April 4, 1931 in Saginaw, Michigan.
He married Janice Marie Green, October 8, 1955. She passed away September 12, 1992. Later he married, Joyce Elizabeth Simpson, July 15, 1998. She passed away February 16, 2022. Alvin served with the U. S. Marine Corp during the Korean War where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. He was employed by Daley Pickle Co, Combustion Engineering, Wickes Corporation and retired from Newcor. He had been a member of the Saginaw Field and Stream Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed going to the casino.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Tammie and Michael Schoch; four grandchildren, Jill Delaney and her husband Tom; Nicholas Schoch, Jordan Schoch and Abby Schoch; a great granddaughter, Grace Delaney; several nieces and nephews. A son, Terry Van Bocxlaer, and a brother, two sisters and their spouses, Erwin and Donna Van Bocxlaer, Betty and William Valeck and Leona and Richard Hak have predeceased him.
The funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Nancy Steele will officiate with entombment in Oakwood Mausoleum. Military Honors will be under the auspices of the U. S. Marine Corp and American Legion Post #22. Friends may visit with family from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the funeral service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Saginaw Field and Stream Club or the Wounded Warriors.
