Gibbs, Amanda Michal Bridgeport, Michigan Amanda was born October 7, 1978, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and she went home to be with the Lord on November 20, 2012 in Bridgeport, Michigan. She moved to Lancaster, California, from Harriman, Tennessee, when she was a child and attended the Lancaster Baptist School and West Coast Baptist College. After graduating from college, she moved to Bridgeport, Michigan, where she taught elementary school for several years at the Bridgeport Baptist Academy. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bridgeport, Michigan, where she had been involved in both the bus and music ministry. Her husband, whom she married in December of 2007, was Philip Gibbs of Bridgeport. She had a two year old daughter, Sydney Joy Gibbs. She is survived by her husband Philip, daughter Sydney, parents Ken and Joyce Jones of Lancaster, California, sisters Alicia Whitman of Lancaster, California, Angela Young of Samara, Russia, Amber Nicholson of Walkertown, North Carolina, Allegra Jones of Lancaster, California, and a brother Andrew Jones of Lancaster, California. She also had several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She left behind a loving extended family and many friends. Services will be held Monday, December 3, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Bridgeport, 2400 King Road. Dr. R. B. Ouellette will officiate with graveside burial at Flint Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the Church from 9:00 a.m. Monday until the time of service.
