Amanda Lynn Smith, age 43, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Amanda was a loving and devoted wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother. She was born on August 14th, 1981, in Saginaw, Michigan to Bonnie (Welsh) Braley and the late Charles Braley. She graduated from Hemlock High School in 1999. She worked at Tony’s I-75 where she met her future husband, John Smith. Amanda and John were married on February 15th 2006. She enjoyed country music of all kinds, playing video games, and reading. She has worked at Hemlock Semi-Conductor under Compass Group USA for the past 10 years. Amanda enjoyed spending time outdoors with her family. She looked forward to holidays spent with all kids and grandkids. She was a lover of all animals, reading books, coloring and diamond art.
Amanda had a laugh that was contagious and could be found sharing a smile with anyone she passed by. She never gave up the opportunity to spend time with her family. She was a soul that just brought the best out of everyone close to her.
Amanda is survived by her mother, Bonnie (Welsh) Braley; husband John Smith and their children, Charles Smith, Shane Candiff, Chandell Mercier (Josh), and Shyann Smith. Her grandkids Breea, Bradley, Keira, Kynlee. She was preceded in death by her father Charles Braley and her grandparents.
Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 125 E Saginaw St, Merrill, MI 48637. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Pastor Nate Tester will officiate the service with interment to follow in Marion Township Cemetery.
