Sabow, Andrew N. Saginaw, Michigan Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Caretel, at the age of 99 years. He was born December 8, 1918, in Woodlawn, Pennsylvania, the son of the late John and Mary (Borolch) Sabow. He served with the US Army Air Corps in the Military Police, during World War II. He retired from General Motors after many years of service. He was a member of American Legion Post #439, the Bridgeport Gun Club and the NRA. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and other outdoor sports. He also enjoyed car racing. He married Beatrice Hrabec on May 18, 1946; she predeceased him May 31, 2015. Surviving are two daughters, JoAnn M. Summers and Janet L. and her husband Gary VanOchten; two grandchildren, Heidi M. and her husband Richard Berner and James J. Hughes; one great-grandson, Evan B. Ziozios; two sisters, Helen Tobin and Jennie Arnold; several nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Beatrice, and by his brothers and sisters, William M. Sabow, George T. Sabol, Frank P. Szabo, Edward W. Sabow, Mary Jurado, John Sabow and Charles L. Sabow. Cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held at a later date with military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. His family extends special thanks to all at Caretel and Southerncare Hospice for their kindness and care.
