Angelina "Nina" Rita Baker of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away unexpectedly with her family by her side, on Friday, December 2, 2022, at Ascension - St. Mary's Hospital. She was 60 years old. Angelina Rita Rodriguez was born on September 1, 1962, in Mathis, Texas to the late Anselmo Richard and Frances (Perez) Rodriguez. She met the love of her life, Brian Charles Baker, in Athens, Michigan, they dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on April 8, 1980, in Youngstown, Ohio; he survives her. The role of her lifetime was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had spunk, a quick wit, a creative mind, and enjoyed working on puzzles, diamond dots, and anything to do with arts and crafts. Nina loved to cook, especially breakfast, and showed her love and affection toward others by cooking for them. She held a special place in her heart for all animals. Nina also had the amazing ability to connect with all people; making everyone feel special and that they mattered. Her little piece of heaven was tending to and nurturing her plants and riding off into the sunset with her husband on their Harley Davidson. Above all, Nina treasured and cherished the times she was able to spend with her grandchildren. She will forever be remembered for being honest and never sugar coating what needed to be said, for her beautiful smile and wonderful laugh, her selflessness to anyone in need, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.
Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Brian C. Baker of Bridgeport; one son and two daughters: Matthew Rodriguez of Zilwaukee; Sara (Jose Jr) Miramontes of Holland; Alicia Baker of Bridgeport; seven grandchildren: Angelica (Alfonso Jr.) Martinez, Jayden Burnett, Angelino Miramontes, Matthew Rodriguez, Jr; Camden Rodriguez, Natalia Miramontes, and Xavier Rodriguez; five great-grandchildren: Alfonso III, Ariella, Aviana, Alani, and Matthew III; mother, Frances Gardner of Saginaw; two brothers and one sister: John (MaryJean) Rodriguez, Victoria (Robert) Lucyk and Anthony Rodriguez. Also surviving are many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Anselmo R. Rodriguez; a brother, Emanuel (Val) Rodriguez; a great-grandchild, Angel.
Honoring Angelina's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road.
