Ann Pardike

Beloved mother, wife and sister passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Wellspring Lutheran Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center in Frankenmuth, Michigan at the age of 91 years. The daughter of the late Earl and Beatrice (Banks) Pardridge was born on May 4, 1929 in Saginaw. She was a graduate of Saginaw High School, class of 1947.

Ann was employed at Wiechmann’s Department store in downtown Saginaw where she worked in the cosmetic department. One duty included mixing custom face powder for the women customers. She also modeled the latest fashion during their in store fashion shows.

Ann married Guy E. Pardike on April 10, 1954 in Saginaw at Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church. Seven years later their family expanded when Ann gave birth to their only child, daughter Wendy Ann. They were married for 65 years before he predeceased her on December 11, 2019. Ann has been a member of Peace Lutheran Church since 1970.

Ann embraced the arts and was very creative. She enjoyed decorating her home, music, movies, poem writing, craft projects. Ann possessed and incredible talent of drawing, especially elegant ladies in glamorous outfits. She enjoyed her small flower garden, attending her high school reunions where she reveled in reconnecting with old classmates. Ann loved spending time with her family, especially at her sister Jane’s annual Christmas Eve Party. Of her relationships with her siblings, she liked to say there has never been a cross word exchanged between them.

Later in life, after Guy retired, they spent some of their winter month vacationing at Shell Point Village in Ft. Myers, Florida where they enjoyed the sun and scenery including manatees!

Ann is survived by her beloved daughter Wendy Pardike and her partner Sherman Lightner, two sisters: Jane Franz and Nancy Moore, many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

She was predeceased by her loving brother Walter Pardridge.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at W.L. Case and Company (4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw). Vicar Pahlkotter will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at W.L. Case and Company, and from 10:00 am until the time of the service on Thursday. Due to the world wide health pandemic, building capacity will be limited, face coverings will be required and social distancing will be encouraged. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Peace Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a charity Ann supported.
