Anna Sawatzki Bridgeport, Michigan Passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Age 87 years. Anna Fila was born January 1, 1926, the daughter of the late Joseph and Angeline (Koronkiewicz) Fila, in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Frederick Sawatzki, February 24, 1945. He predeceased her July 31, 2005. During World War II, she was employed as Head Inspector at U.S. Graphite Co. Anna was a founding member of St. Christopher Catholic Church, their choir, Altar Society and Senior Citizens. She enjoyed Polka dancing and singing. Surviving are two sons, three daughters and their spouses, Marcia and Pete Provencher; Linda Bell; Alan and Marcy Sawatzki; Debra and Tom Abraitis, Mark Sawatzki; her daughter-in-law, Roseanne Shimatz; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a son, Gary, three grandchildren, Emily, Jodi and Dean, seven brothers and two sisters, Paul, Alex, John, Stan, Joe , Tony, Michael, Lillian and Mary. The funeral liturgy will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2013, at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 3945 Williamson Rd. Bridgeport. Rev. John Mancini O.S.F. S. will officiate with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00-5:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and then on Friday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral liturgy.
