Annis Louise Packard of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper. She was 77 years old. Annis Louise Morford was born on March 22, 1944, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late John Milford and Minnie Frances (Neilson) Morford. She was a proud 1961graduate of Saginaw High School. Following graduation, Annis married George Oren Packard on August 2, 1966, and together they moved to Germany while he was serving in the U.S. Army. Upon their return to Michigan, Annis lovingly decided to stay at home to raise her four children. She worked as a telecommunications operator with King Communication and also worked as a crew member with McDonald. Later in life, Annis attended Delta College where she received her Associate Degree. She was a faithful lifetime member of the Center Road Church of Christ. As a young girl Annis loved listening to the Detroit Tigers play on radio with her father. She carried that love of sports with her throughout life, cheering for all the Detroit sports teams. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and visiting with family throughout the holidays. What made Annis a great cook was that she knew how many cups of love, dashes of care, and pinches of kindness were needed to make all of her meals to taste great, especially her cutout cookies. Above all, she loved and cherished her family. She will forever be remembered for her compassion, for her love of her cats, and her indomitable spirit.
Surviving are her four children: Linda (Steve) Marlowe of Grand Blanc; George S. (Jennifer Heading) Packard Sr. of Birch Run; Kyle (Laura Schroeder) Packard of Burt; Amy (James Mayes) Packard of Saginaw; 11 grandchildren and their spouses; 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters and a brother: Carolyn Watchorn of Bridgeport, Michigan; Pat (Keith) Ferchau Saginaw; Linda (Richard) Lambrecht of MA; John (Lori) Morford of NM. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; son-in-law: Anthony Hetherington; brother-in-law, Fred Watchorn; and a great-granddaughter, Jazmyne.
