Anselma S. Guzman

Guzman, Anselma S. Saginaw, Michigan Our beautiful madr peacefully departed her earthly body surrounded by family at the age of 82 years. Anselma Sanchez was born March 1, 1936, to the late Simona (Cortez) and Manuel Sanchez, in Robstown, Texas. She married Luis C. Guzman on November 21, 1953; he predeceased her March 19, 2011. Anselma retired from Vlasic Food Company. She was a loving friend, neighbor, and mother to all, and when not devoting her time to raising her beautiful family, Anselma enjoyed bingo, casinos, shopping with her sisters, dining out and watching The Walking Dead. Anselma will be missed by her children, Sylvia (Jesse) Gonzalez, Arthur Guzman, David (Mary Joy) Guzman, Michael Guzman, Rosemary Hook, Susan Guzman, and Daniel Guzman; son-in-law, David Wachowiak; six grandchildren: Anselma, Phillip, Maria, Peter, Joshua, and Joseph; two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Sophia; two loving sisters, Victoria (Earl) Burke and Maria (Fred) Cavazos; many nieces, nephews, and their families. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Luis; children, Steven, Manuel and Paul; son-in-law, Allan Hook; and three brothers and two sisters, Rudolfo Sanchez, Avelino Sanchez, Carlos Sanchez, Eustolia Martinez and Hortencia Huerta. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at St. John Paul II Catholic Parish, St. Josaphat Church, 469 Shattuck Road, Carrollton. Reverend Father Duane Wachowiak will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral Liturgy.
