Anthony "Tony" John Stricker
Birch Run, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on April 15, 2023. Age79 years. Tony was born on June 05, 1943, in Saginaw to the late Anton and Carmen (Diaz) Stricker. He proudly served for four years in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Tony was married to the love of his life, Alice Martinez; she survives him. In his younger days he loved to hunt and play music. He also enjoyed woodworking and was an excellent builder. Tony was a devoted Lions fan, even when they did not play very well. He was a coin collector, big story teller and loved cooking, especially Mexican food.
Tony is survived by the love of his life, Alice Stricker, their children: Joseph (Shannon) Stricker, Carmen (Adam Gonzalez) Stricker, and Paula Stricker. The absolute pride and joy of his life, who affectionately refer to him as “Dodo”, his grandchildren: Alicia, Anthony (Felisha), Mazzy, Ana, Sevin, Reece, Apolonia, Savannah, Charlotte, Memphis, and soon to arrive, Natalia, and great-grandchildren: Gracelynn, Isaac, and soon to arrive Juliet. He is also survived by the best brothers and sisters a man could have: Theresa Pawlowski, Joe (Carol) Stricker, Celia Jones, Jim (Dora) Stricker, Bob (Jane) Stricker, Sue Torrez, and brothers- and sisters-in-law: Ida Stricker, Lupe Vargas, Gloria Fulsher, Rose Garcia, Tino (Jean) Martinez, and Emilio (Dolores) Martinez; and step brothers and sisters: Tony (Betty) Zarazua, Pete (Debbie) Zarazua, Danny (Sueway) Zarazua, Doodie (Rick) Sochanek, Lupe (Ed) Carstens, Justo Zarazua, Raymond Zarazua, and Jimmy Zarazua; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Tony was predeceased by a brother, Steve Stricker, brothers- and sisters-in-law: Don Pawlowski, Will Jones, Dan Torrez, Phil Vargas, Joe Garcia, Paul and Ester Olvera, John Martinez, Tony and Lois Martinez, Homero and Mary Trevino, and Bob Fulsher; a special niece, Valerie Stricker, and his nephew and Godson, Tracy Stricker.
A funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 21, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Ave. Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Alberto Vargas will officiate. Military Honors will be rendered under the auspices of the United States Army and American Legion Post 22. Honoring Tony’s wishes cremation will take place following services. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw, with a vigil service held at 7:00 pm.
