Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on March 20,2022
at the age of 101 and has been reunited in heaven with her Lord and Savior and Robert
"Bob" Wagner Jr., her cherished husband of 63 yrs.
Ardis was born in Owosso, Michigan on January 29, 1921, the third of five children to
the late Norman and Margaret (Shepard) Gute. After graduating from the Owosso High
School, she then earned a bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from Michigan State
College of Agriculture and Applied Science (MSU) and later a Bachelor's Degree in
Elementary Education from Central Michigan University.

While teaching home economics at North Branch High School she met and married
Robert Wagner Jr. on December 31,1944. Later, moving to Saginaw in 1952, Ardis
continued her career with the Buena Vista School District primarily teaching her beloved
first and second graders at Brunkow Elementary School. She retired from teaching after
twenty-two years of service.

Ardis was blessed to have four children and their spouses who survive her: Jean
(Robert) McCubbin, Robert D. (Martha) Wagner, Beth (Allan) Bonner and John (Nancy)
Wagner along with ten grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. She is also
survived by her dear sister-in-law, Doris Gute as well as many loving nieces and
nephews. Ardis was preceded in death by her husband: Robert Wagner Jr., a sister:
Lorayne Reid and three brothers: Loren Gute, Harold Gute, and Allen Gute.
Ardis is remembered for her deep love of the Lord and her supportive love of her
husband and family. She spent many years of her life bringing joy to others by her caring
deeds and words. As a member of the Frankenmuth Bible Church Ardis enjoyed
supporting mission work as well as seeing the young church grow.

Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the W.L. Case Funeral
Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw, MI. Pastor Robert McCubbin her son-in-law will officiate; burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the W.L. Case Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday and on Thursday from Noon until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider
