Armand Martin Saginaw, Michigan
Passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017, age 56 years. Armand was born in Forest Hills, NY on March 29, 1961. His family moved to Long Island in 1970 and he graduated from Ward Melville High School in 1979. He earned an Associates Degree in Automotive Technology at SUNY Farmingdale. In 1984 he was a graduate of SUNY Potsdam having earned a Bachelors Degree in Computer and Information Science. After college he moved to the Midwest and was employed by Buick Motor Division and the Chicago Tribune. He started Dow Corning in May of 1988 and retired on June 16, 2016 as a Security Architect.
He had a love for tinkering on all things mechanical and had a passion for welding. He was proud of his New York roots and Jewish heritage, but settled happily in Saginaw to marry his loving wife Stephanie on July 28, 1990 and to start a family. His two sons, William and Steven came into his life and his family was complete. All of whom survive him.
Armand is also survived by his stepfather Bill Holt; his sister, Rebecca Tomalty; his brother, Daniel Martin; his stepmother Mary Martin and many loving friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Gloria Holt, his father, Armando Martin and his father-in-law, Rev. Robert E. Lakey.
His funeral service will take place immediately following that of his father-in-law, Rev. Robert E. Lakey, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Second Presbyterian Church, 2665 Midland Road, Saginaw. Rabbi Jason Miller will officiate Armand's funeral. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday and then at church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
