Arnold passed away peacefully at his home on October 7, 2020 at the age of 91. He was born on August 22 , 1929 to the late Arnold and Sophia (Kratochvil) Catterfeld in Saginaw, Michigan. Arnold was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School, class of 1947 and was a member of the United States National Guard for eight years. He married Marie Johnson on May 23, 1953 in Saginaw. The two shared 67 wonderful years of marriage together.

Arnold worked in Production Control at Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring in 1988. He is a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Gladwin. Arnold and Marie have been “snow birds” for over 20 years, spending their winters in Ellenton, Florida. Arnold loved playing cards with his friends and relatives. He also enjoyed watching game shows on TV. Most of all, Arnold loved his family and was strong in his faith.

He is survived by his wife Marie and five children: William (Beverly) Catterfeld, Craig Catterfeld, Julie (Neil) Jenkins, Sandra (Gary) Jensen, and Kevin (Sonya) Catterfeld. Arnold is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great- grandchildren and his daughter in law Trudy Catterfeld.

His son James Catterfeld preceded him death.

Honoring Arnold’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family memorial service will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at W.L. Case and Company (4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw). Due to the world wide health pandemic, indoor building capacity is limited, face coverings are required and social distancing will be encouraged.
