Arvilla Marie Blower

Arvilla Marie Blower Saginaw, Michigan Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully Saturday, November 21, 2015 at St. Francis home. Age 93 years. The daughter of the late John and Martha (Pushert) Newman was born June 22, 1922 in Shield (Paines), Michigan. She married Roy C. Blower, August 24, 1940. He passed away February 7, 1990, six months short of their 50th wedding anniversary. Arvilla was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran church, where she taught Sunday school and Bible classes for many years. She also taught ceramics and served as Chairperson of the James Township Election Inspector. She also active with the Gents and Gennie senior group and enjoyed crafts. Surviving are her three sons, Charles and Karolyne Blower, Saginaw; Gary and Rosemary Blower, Freeland; Richard and Karen Blower, Saginaw; 4 grandsons, Kevin, Craig and his wife, Nicole, Chad and Paul Blower; two great grandchildren, Noah and Savannah; a sister and brother, Ruth Williams; Joseph Newman and his friend, Sandy; a sister-in-law, Gladys Newman; a brother-in-law, Leonard Rohde; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Iva, Crystal Newman, Betty Rohde, Shirley Czerney; her brothers, Kenneth and Wilbur Newman; her sisters-in-law, Carole and Mary Newman and a brother-in-law, Arthur Czerney. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, 1209 Hancock St. Saginaw. Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday and then on Wednesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
