Audrey Louise Jeschke of Hemlock, Michigan
Beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper. She was 85 years old. Audrey Lousie Burwitz was born on February 19, 1935, in Monroe, Michigan, to the late Harold and Clara (Sachs) Burwitz. She was a proud graduate of Michigan Lutheran Seminary. Following graduation, Audrey attended Doctor Martin Luther College in Minnesota graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Audrey was employed as a teacher with St. John Lutheran School teaching grades K-8th and was also a substitute teacher for Hemlock Public Schools for many years. She married the love of her life, Charles Jeschke on July 6, 1958 at St. John Lutheran Church in Hemlock; he preceded her in death on June 25, 2002. Audrey was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church and actively volunteered on the Altar Guild. She also volunteered at Bethesda Resale Shop and was a member of the Hemlock Area Historical Society. Above all, Audrey loved and cherished her family and living a very active yet independent lifestyle volunteering and traveling.
Surviving are two sons: David Jeschke of Hemlock; Martin (Katherine) Jeschke of Traverse City; two grandchildren: Nathan Jeschke and Stephen Jeschke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister, Janet Burkett.
Honoring Audrey’s wishes cremation has taken place. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery next summer.
