Balwinder Kaur Gill of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Covenant HealthCare - Harrison. She was 84 years old. Balwinder Kaur was born on February 9, 1939, in Wadala Banger, India, to the late Bham Singh Pannu and Gurdeep Kaur Pannu. She married the love of her life, Kulwant Singh Gill, in 1960; he survives her. The role of her lifetime, one she treasured and cherished, was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Mid Michigan Gurdwara Temple on Gratiot Road for many years. Devoted to her faith and prayer book, she prayed daily from before sunrise to after sunset. As a young lady she attended sewing school and carried this passion throughout her life, designing, creating, and altering many beautiful clothes and dresses over the years. Balwinder also enjoyed the peace and tranquility walking brought to her life. She was an excellent cook and loved entertaining family and friends at gatherings throughout her life. Balwinder will forever be remembered as a woman of strong faith, for the love, care, and kindness she had for all she loved, and for always staying active and on the go.

Surviving are four children: Harpreet K. Dosanjh and her husband, Dr. Gursharn S. Dosanjh of Grand Rapids; Ravi Bakshi and her husband, Dean Bakshi of CA; Rupinder Chaudhary and her husband, Bhupinder Singh Chaudhary of CA; Sukhinderbir Singh "Prince" and his wife, Manpreet K. Gill of Saginaw; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Dr. Sardul Pannu and his wife, Shandi Pannu of MD; three sisters: Tripat Chhina and her husband, Dr. Kulwant Chhina of VA; Harjinder Gill and her husband, Baldev Gill of MD; Manjeet Sandhu and her husband, Jasbir Sandhu of VA. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded by parents Bham Singh Pannu and Gurdeep Kaur Pannu; two brothers and one sister.

A funeral service/Antim Sanskar will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N Miller Rd, Saginaw, MI, 48603. Sarabjeet Singh and Satnam Singh will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
