Barbara J. Dungey

Barbara J. Dungey Merrill, Michigan Passed away Monday, May 21, 2018, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center. Age 67 years. The daughter of the late Essie (Bartig) and Cleophis Metcalf was born January 22, 1951 in Hemlock, Michigan. She graduated from Hemlock High School. She married Thomas Dungey, December 18, 1970. He survives her. Barbara retired from the Fine Jewelry Department of J.C. Penny in Alma with over 20 years of service. She was a member of Merrill Congregational Church and a card club. Most of all she enjoyed her children and family. Surviving besides her husband, Thomas, are a son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Jennifer Dungey; four grandchildren, Shaunna, Desire, Dakota and Deonte; a sister and a brother-in-law, Nola and Jim Hale; a brother, Thomas Metcalf; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Joel Patrick Dungey in 1998, a brother, Dennis Metcalf, and a niece, Denise Hale. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel in Merrill. Rev. Richard Gossett will officiate. Friends may call at the Chapel in Merrill from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of the memorial service.
