Barbara Jean Joseph

Joseph, Barbara Jean Ionia, MI Formerly of Saginaw, MI Passed away Friday, October 14, 2016, at Heartland Health Care Center in Grand Rapids, MI. Barbara Long was born February 1, 1938, in Saginaw, to Dorothy Emma (Robison) and Clell Price Long. She was graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1956. She married Carl Joseph on May 28, 1960. He predeceased her October 19, 1995. She and long-time friends, Evi Gatschze and Ursula Shaw, spent many years catering together. Barbara was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Barbara enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. Surviving are one son and three daughters: Steven (Lisa) Joseph, Theresa Joseph, Linda Wheaton (Kevin Griffin), and Mary (Brian) Bruce. Barbara is also survived by eight grandchildren: Jamie Joseph, Shawn (Amanda) Joseph, Steve (Ashley) Joseph, Sierra (Kevin) Loy, Jessica (James) Hall, Amy Wheaton, Anna Buck and Tyler Buck. Barbara leaves six great-grandchildren: Addison, Kira, Shaelynn, River, Camden, and Bailey. She also leaves one brother, Richard (Arlene) Long and one sister, Peggy (the late John) Kniat; several nieces, nephews and their families. Besides her parents, Barbara was predeceased by a daughter, Sandra Mayfield, and by a brother, Donald Long. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road where her family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service. Private committal will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
