Passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at his home. Age 66 years. Barry was born March 4, 1952 in Saginaw, the son of the late James and Alice (Walker) Rankin. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He owned and operated Dirla Studio, Bay City, and Rankin Photography in Saginaw. Barry was actively a staff photographer for the Saginaw Spirit Hockey Team and University of Michigan Football Team. He had practiced as a professional photographer in the Mid-Michigan area for over 40 years. Barry was a member of many professional photography associations before retiring, including: Professional Photographers of American (PPA), American Society of Photographers (ASP), Professional Photographers of Michigan (PPM), Mid-Michigan Professional Photographers Association (MPPA), Society of XXV; where he was an original member and one of the founders of this world-wide invitational association. He won the Professional Photographers of Michigan award for Photographer of the Year several times. Barry will be missed by many. Surviving are his children, Mark Rankin; Beau (Jennifer McMahon) Rankin; Jennifer (Keegan) Winkeller; seven grandchildren, Cameron, Connor, Jacob, Stella, Laila, Maddox and Taylor; his former wife, Lorie Rankin; a brother, a sister and their spouses, James (Barb) Rankin; Elizabeth (Clarence) Wright; several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial visit will be held from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the Masonic Temple of Saginaw, 2655 N. Center Rd., Saginaw.
