Wolfe, Basil Saginaw, Michigan Basil has been called from this life to be in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Covenant Healthcare at the age of 97 years. Basil was born September 22, 1917, son of the late Loyd and Nellie (Ballard) Wolfe in Bradyville, Michigan. He graduated from Bad Axe High School. He moved to Saginaw in 1941. He married Dorothy Frahm on October 19, 1942. She survives him along with their three children, son Thomas Wolfe of Freeland, Michigan; daughters, Carol Ann (Lawrence) Roy of Avon Park, Florida and Christine (Robert) Haskins of Blacksburg, Virginia. He also leaves seven grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews. Basil was an active member of West Michigan Avenue United Methodist Church. He was also a lifetime member of Gideons International. Basil was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen; daughter-in-law, Paula Wolfe; three brothers, Ronald, Eldon and Olin "Mike" Wolfe and one sister, Dawn Rose. The funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2014 at West Michigan Avenue United Methodist Church, 1802 W. Michigan Avenue. Rev. Rahim Shabazz will officiate with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway Sunday from 3:00 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at church from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
