Beatrice L. Gross

Beatrice L. Gross Hemlock, Michigan Passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013, at her home. Age 93 years. The daughter of the late Fred and Minnie (Wardin) Fiting was born June 19, 1920 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married John Gross, November 24, 1945. He passed away February 3, 1998. Beatrice was a graduate of Central Michigan University with a teaching certificate. She taught in the Carrollton Public School system and for St. Peter Lutheran School in Hemlock. She was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where she was Superintendant of the Sunday School for 33 years, a member of the choir and Ladies Aide. She enjoyed woodworking, crafts and gardening. Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Karen and Dave Earley, Hemlock, MI; Kay and Greg Stafford, St. Charles, MI; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Joe and Nina Wolgast; Kate and Bruce Daman; Andy Wolgast; Brenna and Matt Lockwood; Megan Earley; Kelly Stafford; Krista Stafford; several great grandchildren; a sister-in-law and her husband, Helen and Ange Naples; several niece and nephews one of whom was her special caregiver, Debbie Chaffee. A grandson, Jonathan Stafford and a sister, Evelyn Bluemer have predeceased her. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Rd. Hemlock. Dr. William L. Morris and Rev. Richard E. Mundt will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and then on Wednesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
