Beatrice “Bea” Jean Parks of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Shields Comfort Care. She was 92 years old. Beatrice Jean Mainprize was born on August 3, 1927, one of eight children born to the late Harry Lockey and Lena May (Osmun) Mainprize. She met the love of her life and soul mate, Kenneth Hugh Parks, through his sister; they dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on April 5, 1947. Ken preceded her in death on March 7, 1999. Bea worked for General Motors – Saginaw Steering Gear plant 2, eventually retiring as a tool cutter and grinder from plant 1 after 32 ½ years of service. During World War II, she humbly served the United States, through her employer, with the production and manufacturing of guns. Bea was a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and Our Saviour Lutheran Church. She enjoyed going to the casino in Mt. Pleasant and spending time with her family and friends on Higgens Lake. Above all, she found comfort and peace in the solace of her own home.
Surviving are two sons and two daughters: Kenneth (Patricia) Parks of Saginaw; Bonnie (George) Roesner of Mayville; Connie Riley of Saginaw; Craig (Kirsten) Parks of Bay City; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
