Bennito passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the age of 44. He was surrounded by his loving children, mother and siblings. Bennito was born on January 30, 1977 to Antonio Gomez Sr. and Jessica Ruiz in Saginaw, Michigan. He was a graduate of Bridgeport High School, class of 1996. He enlisted with the Marines in 1999 and in 2003 Bennito served proudly in the first phase of Operation Iraqi Freedom. This experience left him with many unseen scars but his commitment to serving his country and those around him never wavered.
Bennito attended Palomar College in San Marcos, California where he earned his Associate’s Degree. He was employed as a Mail Carrier for the United States Postal Service and retired in 2011. He enjoyed basketball, darts, billiards, and listening to loud music. Bennito loved to have nice clothes, he enjoyed his time in California, loved to eat chocolate, watch HGTV and eat his mother’s good cooking. He was the life of the party, always making everyone laugh and constantly making people happy. Bennito lived his life to the fullest; people were drawn to his charm. Overall, he cherished his time spent with his family and most of all his children.
Bennito is survived by his children: Layla Gomez, Elias Gomez, Javen Gomez, his mother Jessica Gomez, his siblings: Antonio Gomez Jr., Gilberto Gomez, Diane Gomez Burden and his nieces and nephews: Antonio Gomez III, Sienna Gomez, Jessica Joiner, Gilberto Gomez Jr., Terese Valentine, Felecia Valentine, Cassondra Gomez, Jesus Gomez, Gabrielle Gomez, Corrina Gomez and Finn Burden. He was predeceased by his father Antonio Gomez Sr.
A funeral service will take place at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw. Rev. Frank Gallardo will officiate. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Military honors under the Auspices of the V.F.W. Post #1859 and the U.S. Marine Corp. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Due to the world wide health pandemic building capacity is limited to 25 people, face coverings are required and social distancing will be encouraged.
