Bernard Martin Neuenfeldt Hemlock, Michigan
Passed away suddenly, Sunday, September 1, 2019. Age 81 years. The only child of the late Martin and Frieda (Rauchholz) Neuenfeldt was born January 9, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan and was a proud graduate of Hemlock High School, Class of 1955. He met Bonnie Hauman, the love of his life, while at Brockway Roller Rink. They married August 25, 1962. She survives him. Bernard engaged in farming all of his life and served on many boards including the Michigan Soybean Association, Richland Township Planning Commission, Saginaw County Farm Bureau, Soil Conservation District where he was Cooperator of the Year. He was a crop adjuster, Rain & Hail and R.C.I.S. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church, Hemlock where he served as an Elder, Usher and on the Zion School Board. He was known to some as the unofficial "Mayor" of Hemlock, was a pillar of the daily "Elevator Coffee Club" in Hemlock. Bernie talked to everyone he met and always had a story to tell. He was extremely proud of his family, especially his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Bonnie, two sons, a daughter and their spouses, Charles Neuenfeldt, Saginaw, MI; Martin (Lori) Neuenfeldt, Hemlock, MI; Lou Ann (Leonard Jr.) Krueger, Hemlock, MI; six grandchildren, Nicholas and Nathan Neuenfeldt, Saginaw, MI; Ethan (Kaycee) Head, Bay City, MI; Lyndsey (Mason) Babcock, Howell, MI; August and Logan Krueger, Hemlock MI; a foster brother Adam (Elsie) Sherman, Hemlock MI. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church, Hemlock, MI; Rev. Paul Hauser will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Friday and then at the church from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the funeral service.
