Bernice E. Lentner Saginaw, Michigan Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 at St. Francis Home. The daughter of the late Albert H. and Selma (Catterfeld) Spero was born January 11, 1915 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Earl A. Lentner Sr. October 10, 1936; He passed away May 14, 2005. Mr. and Mrs. Lentner engaged in farming in Albee Township for many years. Bernice was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and later Ascension Lutheran Church. She was very active with the Republican Women; Farm Bureau; served on the Jury Commission, and many Albee Township activities. She was an excellent homemaker, seamstress and cook. She was very artistic, enjoying painting and crafts, gardening and flowers. Surviving are three sons, one daughter and their spouses, Earl Lentner Jr.; Marvin and Sue Lentner; Dorothy and Jon Luethjohann; Eric and Linda Lentner; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Pamela and Michael Kurecka; Earl Lentner III; Lynn and Stephen Colby; Todd and Lee Ann Lentner; Jill and George Burton; Kurt and Jennifer Lentner; Kristopher and Jamie Lentner; seven great grandchildren, Patrick and Rachel Kurecka; Abby, Olivia, Kaleb, Parker and Elise Lentner; a sister, Marie Bondy; a sister-in-law, Clara Spero; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Jon C. Luethjohann; a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Lentner; a brother, Albert Spero and a sister, Esther Gross Arndt. The funeral service will take place at Noon Thursday, January 2, 2014, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of the funeral service.
