Passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, June 13, 2016. Age 77 years.
Bernice L. Carlton was born July 15, 1938, in Saginaw to the late Kenneth and Cora (Lacy) Carlton. She married Albert Pack, Jr., on July 28, 1961, and he predeceased her on October 18, 1996. Bernice had several passions in her life, primarily her family but also music, dance, bingo and bowling. She was an accomplished bowler who won numerous awards for high average and she often competed in the Saginaw Senior All-Star events. Figure skating competitions, Jeopardy, and Wheel of Fortune were viewed avidly by Bernice and rarely missed. She was a member of the Baha'i faith.
Bernice is survived by: three children, Laura (Steve) Schroeder, Wendy (Eric) Bula, and Frank (Tonya) Pack; 12 grandchildren, Roxanne, Benjamin, Nicole, David, Natalie, Suzi (A.J.), Steven Jr., Allie, Brandon, Christian, Kaitlynn, and Sophia; 7 great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister, Kenneth (Connie) Carlton, Jr., Richard Carlton, and Judy Spencer; a brother-in-law, Don (Arlene) Pack; three sisters-in-law, Carol Carlton, Roseann Carlton, and Donna Pack Birnbaum; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ronald Carlton, and Thomas Carlton; two brothers-in-law, Frank Pack and Shorty Spencer; and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Carlton.
Pursuant to Bernice's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date for family and friends. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy may consider the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
