Bert Eugene Goodman

Our beloved Bert was called to Heaven on Wednesday, January 18, 2023. Age 77 years.

Bert was born on December 5, 1945, son of the late Bert O. and Lola (Wymer) Goodman, in Fair Oaks, Arkansas. As a child, he and his family moved to Michigan. He then found a career at General Motors-Delphi and retired in 2000 after many years of dedicated service. He married his first wife and mother of his first born, Sheila Kohlhoff. Bert later met and married the love of his life, Peggy Lee Lenhart, on September 29, 1972. She survives him. In his younger days, he enjoyed track racing and sports. Bert was always in the woods, whether it was riding his 3-wheelers on the trails, deer hunting with Peggy or rabbit and squirrel hunting with his dogs. He loved spending time with his family and friends, sitting at the picnic table, watching the History Channel, listening and singing to his “Old Country Classics”, Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis.

Surviving are his loving wife, Peggy; daughters, Sunday (Rick) Klatt, Sabrina Goodman and Michell Bronner (Anthony Tottingham); grandchildren, Makayla, Jacklyn, Cheyanne, Shelby (Austin), Michael and Ashlea; great grandchildren; sister, Carol Long and dear friends, Duane (Debbie) Cox and fellow racing fans, Carl and Vickie. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jerry and Arthur “Art” Goodman; sisters, Ruth Mader, Wanda Long and Paulette Goodman, nephews, James and Milo Goodman and dear friends, Jerry and Lori Conger.

Funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at W. L. Case and Company, 5700 Dixie Highway. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, January 23, 2023 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the chapel from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Marion Township Fire Department or Marion Springs Conservation Club.
