Passed away Monday, January 30, 2017, at St. Francis Home. Age 98 years. The daughter of the late Mary (Temple) and Henry Eurich was born June 18, 1918 in Fowler, Township, Clinton County. She married Eugene S. Trogan in September of 1940. He passed away June 5, 1976. Bertha received her Bachelors of Arts degree in teaching from the University of Michigan and was employed by the Saginaw Public School System, teaching 3rd grade at Jerome School, retiring with over 35 years of service. She was a member of the M.E.A. and the Saginaw Retired Teachers Assoc. She was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, 4705 Brockway Rd. She was an avid reader, loved to travel in her Winnebago motor home and was especially fond of her Cocker Spaniel Dogs. Surviving are two sisters, Gloria Eurich, Longwood, Florida; Geraldine Thompson, Saginaw, MI; several nieces and nephews whom she loved like her own children. She was predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters, Ruth Kamischke and her husband, Roy; Kay Johnson; Hank Eurich and his wife, Margaret; Fred Eurich and his wife, Wilma; Dave, Lida and Julie Eurich. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2017, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Pastor Spencer Biga will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Thursday.
