Betty A. Mellott

Betty A. Mellott Bridgeport, Michigan Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016, age 92 years. She was born on June 13, 1924, daughter of the late William and Alma (Wagner) Kolhagen, in Saginaw. Betty married Gibson Mellott on December 6, 1941. He predeceased her on June 26, 2004. She was a member of Bridgeport Community Church. She enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, camping, gardening, bowling and spending time with her loving family and grandchildren. Surviving are her son, Richard (Carole) Mellott; her daughters, Carolyn (Paul) DeSander and Sharon (Wayne) Krueger; her daughter-in-law, Marilyn Mellott; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Carol and Harriett Kolhagen and nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Mellott, her brothers and sisters, William, Fred, Alan, Gerald, Robert, Jean and Janice Kolhagen. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Bridgeport Community Church, 3821 State Street, Bridgeport. Rev. Ronald L. Sinclair will officiate with burial in Pinegrove Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
