Betty Elaine Hasse

Betty Elaine Hasse Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Thursday, October 23, 2014, at Luther Manor. Age 82 years. The daughter of the late Gertrude (Topham) and Edward Leggitt was born July 23, 1932 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Kenneth Mertin Hasse, July 22, 1950. Her husband of 64 years survives her. Betty was an active member of West Michigan United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing with the choir and volunteering with the Sunday school. Together with her husband, they volunteered with the Gideon's and the Saginaw Rescue Mission. Surviving besides her husband, Kenneth, are five children and their spouses, Doug and Sharon Hasse; Laurie and John Watz; Wendy and Tom Donnelly; Jeff and Cris Hasse; Paul and Carol Hasse; a special niece, Connie Page, whom she raised as her own; twenty grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one sister, Carol Curtis; several nieces and nephews. A daughter, Faye Hasse, and a sister, Ardella Cwklinski, have predeceased her. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at West Michigan Ave. United Methodist Church, 1802 West Michigan Ave. Saginaw, MI. Pastor Rahim Shabazz will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00-9:00 p.m. Monday and then on Tuesday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
