Meschke, Betty Jane Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Sunday, September 23, 2018, at St. Francis Home, at the age of 94 years. Betty Meschke (nee Treanor) was born May 24, 1924, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Percy and Dorothy (Gravatt) Treanor. She lived in Saginaw her entire life, attending various schools and graduated from Saginaw High School with the Class of 42. She married Harold H. Meschke, December 22, 1943, the coldest day ever! Harold predeceased her October 6, 1990. Betty worked as a dental assistant for several years, later taking over the Corset Shop as Manager for 38 years. She spent many happy times traveling to the Caribbean Islands and Mexico. She truly enjoyed friendships of many friends and after dinner conversations. She had been a devoted fan of Engelbert Humperdincks, making many friends and attending concerts. It was a pleasure to get to know him. Betty was a charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church. Surviving are one son and one daughter, Barry Meschke and Julie Meschke, both of Saginaw; a son-in-law, John and his wife, Jane Bourdeau, Au Gres; three grandchildren and their spouses, Daniel and Kelly Meschke, Standish; Ashley Meschke, Saginaw; Gwen and Brian Beck, Monroe; great-grandchildren, Emily Meschke, Derek Meschke, Ilicia and her husband, Devin Wiley, and Kellan Rios; one brother-in-law, Fred Wenzel, Freeland; sister-in-in-law, Fran Meschke; several nieces, nephews and their families. Besides her parents and husband, Harold, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Bourdeau, and by a grandson, Lt. Michael Meschke, US Naval Air Force. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Joyce and her husband Stanley Kania, Richardene Wenzel, and by a brother-in-law, Fred Meschke. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 12:00 noon Friday, September 28, 2018, at Ascension Lutheran Church, 8695 Gratiot Road, where Bettys family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Friday until the time of service.
