Betty Jean (Paulus) Cooper Frankenmuth, MI Passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at home at the age of 84. Betty was born April 30, 1929, in Saginaw to the late Roy and Irma (Koehler) Paulus. She married Jimmie Cooper on October 3, 1964; he survives her. She retired from a prestigious career with Michigan Bell where she worked as an executive secretary. She was a long-time member of Michigan Avenue Baptist Church, the Herb Society of Frankenmuth, the Red Hats Society, and the "Hugs" children's program. Betty was a Christian and truly loved and dedicated her life to making this world a better place for all she encountered. She enjoyed herbs, playing the piano, singing, directing choir, playing "Uno", travelling, hosting holiday dinners, cooking, and had a loving flair for life in all manners. Betty loved to laugh and had a whistle that would turn everyone's head. Besides her husband Jimmie she is survived by her loving brother Lloyd whom she adored, and his wife Mary Ann Paulus; son James Cooper; grandchildren, Audrey and Zac Cooper; special nieces, Shelly Paulus-Sprygada and Kathy Paulus-Riccardi; special sister-in-law, Phyllis K. Paulus; many nieces, nephews, and their children, special friends, and very special neighbors. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Kathy Paulus; and her daughter-in-law, Elaine Cooper. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014, at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Road. The Rev. John M. Paulus will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
