Betty M. Benford

Betty M. Benford Hemlock, Michigan Passed away Friday, November 18, 2016. Age 88 years. The daughter of the late Lela (Sheppard) and Ernest Teichert was born December 10, 1927 in Chesaning. She graduated from Flint Central High School in 1945 and the Hurley Hospital School of Nursing in 1948. Betty married Rolland in 1949. She worked as a Registered Nurse until deciding to devote herself to raising her family. She was a member of St. John XXIII Catholic Parish, Hemlock. Surviving are three sons: Michael (Kathy) and Mark (Ana) of Rio Rancho, NM; and James (Rose) of Grand Blanc; daughter Barbara of Howell; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Donald Collins of Flint,; sister Lorraine Miller of Flint; brother-in-law Alan Skunda of Flint; sister-in-law Phyllis Teichert of Flint; brother-in-law George (Dorothy) Benford of Santa Maria CA; sister-in-law Marjorie Salo of Farmington Hills. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Rolland, in 2005; brothers Keith, William Jr., Robert, and James; sister Chrystal. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at St. John XXIII Catholic Parish, St. Mary Church, 151 St. Mary Road, Hemlock. Rev. Dennis Kucharczyk will officiate, with burial in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Hemlock. Friends may call at the W.L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 4:00-8:00 pm Friday, December 2. Friends and family may then call at the church from 10:00 am Saturday until the time of the funeral mass.
