Beverly Jean Newsted

Beverly Jean Newsted Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Covenant Cooper. Age 90 years. The daughter of the late Alveretta (Hammond) and Lee Powlus was born July 22, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Donald A. Newsted, July 31, 1948. He passed away September 2, 2010. Beverly was employed by Carrollton Public Schools, retiring with over 20 years of service. She was an active member of Kochville United Methodist Church, enjoyed teaching Sunday school and was a member of Christian Women United. She also enjoyed gardening, crafts and visiting her friends and family. Surviving are three children and their spouses; Randall (Bonnie) Newsted, Mark (Marilyn) Newsted, Janice (Michael) McComb, 10 grandchildren; Ryan, Nathaniel, Grant, Scott, Joshua, Matthew, Daniel, Jonathan, Kendrick, Kaci; three great grandchildren, Lia, David and Isaac; several nieces and nephews. A granddaughter, Giselle, and a brother, Jerry Powlus, have predeceased her. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Kochville United Methodist Church, 6030 Bay Rd. Rev. Rick Hodgeson will officiate with burial in Kochville Cemetery. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday and then at the Church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
