Beverly Marie Matthies

Matthies, Beverly Marie Saginaw, MI Passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Covenant Healthcare at the age of 81 years. Beverly was born April 4, 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan the daughter of the late Earl and Lydia (Pauli) Cherry. She met Jimmy Matthies during high school at Arthur Hill and they were married September 20, 1952. Together they were partners in life and love for 62 years. She was the Arthur Hill Homecoming Queen in 1950 and also Miss Anderson Pool Queen. They have lived in Saginaw Township most of their married life. They owned Award & Sports for 24 years. They skied and golfed and were members of Maple Hill Golf Club, Saginaw Country Club and Farmington Hills Country Club. In addition to her husband, Beverly is survived by two daughters, Wendy (Randy) Ittner, Penny (Patrick) McCully; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will take place Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 1:00 5:00 p.m. at W. L.
