Shaw, Beverly Spicer Saginaw, Michigan Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, December 15, 2015. Age 84 years. Beverly M. Spicer was born December 8, 1931, in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Clifford and Mildred (Field) Spicer. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1949. She had worked as a bookkeeper and did payroll for Spicer Engineering, was a teacher's aide at Morley School, and then served as Deputy Drain Commissioner of Saginaw County, from which she retired after 30 years of service, at age 62. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She had been a member of Active Older Adults at the YMCA and had enjoyed bowling during her younger years. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan Shaw Slade (Richard Slade) and Debra Shaw Boyer (Tim Boyer); her grandchildren, Tim (Julie) Slade, Scott (Laura) Slade, Adam (Lisa) Slade, Kelly Slade, Corey Shaw, Lauren Shaw and Heather Miller; great-grandchildren, Drew, Abby, Ella, Kayla, Samantha and Allison Slade, Aura and Cedar Shaw; her sister, Edna Blaisdell, and her brother, Russell (Maxey) Spicer; several nieces, nephews and their families, and several friends. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Jeff Michael Shaw and by her brother, William Spicer. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 21, 2015, at First United Methodist Church, 4790 Gratiot Road. Rev. Kathryn S. Snedeker will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Beverly's family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, and then at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
