Brigg Leo Stone, age 70, passed away at home on December 27, 2014 surrounded by his family to include his two children and six grandchildren. Brigg was born March 15, 1944 in Flint Michigan to the late Robert and Evelyn (Hettinger) Stone of Shaftsburg, MI. Brigg graduated from Merrill High School in 1962 and Toledo Meat Cutting School. He married his high school sweetheart, June Thom, on November 9, 1963. He worked as a butcher and later became a proud, over the road truck driver for over 30 years. Brigg enjoyed camping with his family and was an avid collector of knives and guns of all types. Brigg is survived by his wife June, two children, Troy Stone (Lisa) of Chapel Hill, NC and Tracy Lobel (Gary) of Oak Ridge, NJ, his six beautiful grandchildren; Spencer, Blake, Julia, Parker, Austin, and Andrew, and his brother Rick (Lorena) Bassett. He was predeceased by his father during World War II, his stepfather, and his mother, Evelyn Bassett. Brigg was a well known conversationalist and story teller. He was happiest when entertaining his friends at the family kitchen table. Brigg will always be remembered for his generous spirit, his kindness, and warmth. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Hemlock United Methodist Church. Rev. David Dittman will officiate with burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens at 2:30 p.m. Friends may visit with the family at church on Tuesday from 9:30a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
