Brigitte Christel Meyer

Beloved and devoted wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025, at Covenant hospital, age 84 years. The daughter of the late Fritz and Adelheid (Mundt) Gausa, Brigitte was born on December 4, 1940 in Berlin Germany. She immigrated to Saginaw, Michigan in June 1952. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1959. She married Clarence W. Meyer Jr., her loving husband of 60 years, on April 3, 1965. He survives her. Brigitte worked for Michigan Bell, Ameritech, SBC and retired from AT&T after 32 years of service in 1994.

Brigitte was a longtime member of Martha Washington Chapter #113 OES, life member of Ahmose Temple #63 Daughters of the Nile and life member of Shrine Jesterettes.

Brigitte was a member of Good Shephard Lutheran Church, Saginaw.

Brigitte loved to travel, spending time with family and friends, knitting and spending time at their family cabin watching the wildlife. She donated many lap afghans to the Saginaw Veteran’s hospital and Shriners Children’s hospitals.

Surviving besides her husband Clarence are four children, Karla (Ernie) Weiss, Bay City; Lisa (John) Schlicker, Saginaw; William (Kristy) Meyer, Saginaw; Mark (Jenny) Meyer, Laughlin Nevada; seven grandchildren, Vincent Ragap, Bethany Weiss, Collin Fritchle, Lucas Weiss, Lincoln Meyer, Alex Schlicker, and Evelyn Meyer. She is also survived by a sister Heidi Caraway and in laws Sue Wells, Sally (John) Mazur, Gail Meyer, Craig (Marilyn) Meyer and Julianne (Dave) Preston; many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Optalis Health & Rehabilitation at St. Francis and Covenant for the wonderful care shown to Brigitte.  

Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Deacon Jeff Rauschert will officiate.

Honoring Brigitte’s wishes cremation will follow. Friends may visit the funeral home where the family will be present on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Shriners Children’s Hospital-Chicago or Valley Lutheran High School, Saginaw.
