Bruce D. Best of Saginaw
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 13, 2021. He was 80 years old. Bruce D. Best was born on March 25, 1941, in Vassar, Michigan, to the late Elmer and Josephine (Fox) Best. He was a proud graduate of Vassar High School. Following graduation, Bruce honorably served his country by serving in the United States Army receiving an honorable discharge. He married Sharon Ann (Thomas) Best on May 12, 2005, in Saginaw, Michigan; she survives him. Bruce worked as a pipefitter with General Motors for over 37 years; retiring in 2005. He was of the Methodist Faith. As a young man, Bruce enjoyed racing and building cars. He enjoyed playing various card games and tinkering. Above all, he loved and cherished his family. Bruce will forever be remembered for his hard work ethic, selflessly helping people, and caring for his beloved dogs: Nani and Mishka.
Surviving are his wife of 16 years, Sharon Ann Best of Saginaw; two daughters and one son: Lora (Bob) Milnes of Vassar; Suzanne (Ron) Inman of Rose City; Bruce (Carrie) Best of Millington; six stepchildren: Richard (Deanna) Best, Brant Best, Michael Best, Teresa Best, Regina (Dean) Best, and Russell Best; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dale Best; a sister, Barbara (Bud) Anthony.
A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 17, 2021, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate. Honoring Bruce’s wishes cremation will follow the service. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, masks are required, limitations on the numbered of those gathering will be observed, and social distancing encouraged. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Amazing Grace Animal Rescue.
